You can obviously make it for yourself, but I highly suggest making it for your guests on Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas too. 😋
Dalgona coffee is unique because it’s a layered drink — the top layer is made by whipping together instant coffee, boiling water and sugar, and the bottom layer is well, iced milk. And…don’t be surprised if you hear people call it by other names like “whipped coffee”, “frothy coffee”, or “fluffy coffee! Regardless of the name, it’s STRONG. And kinda addicting! In a GOOD way.

Since it went viral at the beginning of the pandemic people worldwide started making dalgona coffee at home to replace their morning coffee shop concoctions.
How To Drink Dalgona Coffee
Some people (myself included) get confused when first trying dalgona coffee — wondering, do you stir it or not? So, here’s the thing, most recipes for dalgona coffee instruct you to whip the coffee, sugar and hot water together until it becomes a foamy, marshmallow—y meringue like consistency. So, while it looks beautiful layered on top of the milk, I do recommend stiring the two layers together, because otherwise you’re going to get a mouthful of whipped coffee, and then, well…just milk.
Now, if that sounds appetizing to you, I mean, go ahead! But, I recommend stirring the layers together! Don’t worry, the whipped coffee should stay fluffy and frothy even after blending it with the milk. Which makes it an extremely creamy and refreshing drink! Totally worth the hype! 🙌🏼

Equipment
- 1 Mixer
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp instant coffee
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp boiling water
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp pumpkin spice
Instructions
- Blend in a stand mixer (hand or immersion is OK too) until foamy, appx 3-5 minutes.
- Pour over ice cold milk and gently stir the layers together.
- Enjoy immediately!
