If you LOVE coffee (which, I suspect 9/10 people do) and you’re addicted to all things… SPICY, well this spicy mocha recipe is one you’re gonna want to saaaave. To Pinterest, ideally — or just in your bookmarks because I’m predicting you’re gonna want to make it often, especially in the cold winter months!
Spicy Mocha Recipe
Now, with that said, you can also make an iced version of this Spicy Mocha, just make as directed and then allow it to cool and pour over ice. I mean, realistically if you love a spicy mocha latte in the winter, I’m willing to bet you’ll enjoy it in the summer months too 😋
So, if you’re wondering what spices make this mocha so well….spicy, let’s break it down. First and most importantly, it has a pinch of cayenne pepper 🌶️ — not too much, but just enough that it gives this mocha a serious kick! So, prepare yourself for that, but keep in mind that it can be very addicting! I made this in the afternoon one day and now crave it daily. It’s perfect for those days when you’re starting to get kinda sleeeeepy after lunch. Trust me, one drop of this spicy mocha is sure to wake you up 🥱
Naturally, it’s also a sure bet to get you out of bed on an early Monday morning too. I’d even go so far as to say that it makes a good after dinner latte because of how well the mocha and spice compliment one another, plus it’s very creamy, which makes it taste pretty decadent.
The Spices
Aside from the cayenne pepper, you’ll add ground cinnamon, nutmeg and, of course cocoa! I personally use a single size pour over to make this recipe, but you can certainly use a coffee maker, French press or (insert your favorite coffee making contraption here). Once the coffee is brewed all you have to do is blend it with the spices, a splash of maple syrup and a drizzle of coconut cream (or regular cream if that’s your thing).
It’s pretty simple to make, which is helpful if you’re making it first thing in the morning 😴 OK, here’s the recipe — enjoy!
